The last day in the Philippines we went to the local market.  It’s pretty much like any Wholefoods Market, just with out the granola and yuppies.  I learned a lot today.

1.  A small pig in a sack costs about 1200 to 1800 baht ($40 to $50 bucks)  Considering the average wage is $50.00 a month I thought that was quite expensive.

2.  A small pig will put on about 80 kilos of weight in 4 months.  See, it’s an investment.

3.  There is a sauce here sold in buckets that looks like shit, and the people love it on rice.  Very salty and good I am told.

4.  I watched the pigs get “hog tied” and now I know what it sounds like to “squeal like a pig”.

5.  The ride in the Jeepeny is for people that are not six feet tall.  I hit my head twice to the entertainment of all the locals.

Next stop:  THAILAND!!!!!!

PS The Austin boys that own the Taco Joint in Dallas gave me a free T-Shirt if I would take a picture of it on my travels to Asia.
