We’d had some very busy weeks at The Annex leading up to my departure from Dallas on a recent Tuesday. While tending to finish details on a large construction project, I caught my foot as I stepped over a plastic construction fence and fell forward wrist and knee first onto steel plating. Banged up and sore, I spent all available minutes icing the swollen knee until time to get on the plane for my departure to Argentina. Each year it is recommended that I buy “trip insurance” (no pun intended!) because full trip fees are paid well in advance and are non-refundable. I may think differently about this in the future!

I spent three days in Buenos Aires for some well deserved R&R.  A highlight of my stay was attending the Rojo Tango Passion Revue in the Philippe Starck-designed Hotel Faena. This cabaret-style show’s byline is “Love, passion, madness and glamour in a history that transforms itself into a legend.” Select, curated photos below.

Thinking ahead to guided trips based at The Patagonia River Ranch and the challenge of standing in an inflatable boat going down mountain streams and rapids for six days. I believe some good news will follow…. please stay tuned.
