Hello All,
For those of you that enjoyed my emails from Thailand last year, here is my first from Vietnam. I seem to have been too busy to do my usual ramblings of my daily adventures in southeast Asia. This is my first time to Vietnam.
Here I am sitting in First Class on a 777 on my way to Vietnam for a 23 day adventure. It was 13 hours, 3 movies, 2 meals, and a few glasses of wine and champaign later that I landed in Narita airport in Japan. I strolled over to the Admirals Club for a few hours to relax with great food, internet, and really nice showers. I arrived in Saigon last Tuesday. I spent 4 days there before my yoga mates arrived. We did yoga in the park the first morning before leaving for Hoi An.
We spent 4 days in Hoi An. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are no cars allowed in the old town area. The village dates back 2200 years. Under French rule Hoi An served as an administrative center. It was completely undamaged after the American War, thanks to the cooperation of both sides.
