WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s about the only way to describe my private tour today of the Oakley World Headquarters. I will never buy any other sunglasses or apparel the rest of my life. They even supply the military elite with boots, backpacks, and other high end items. This would be for the rangers, SEALS, special ops people and those people who don’t really exist.
I toured the R&D department and went threw the production factory. They make every part of the glasses from frames to lens here in the USA. The big ovens where they put the different iridium coatings was really amazing.
They have about 2,200 people working at the facility. The main entrance hall felt like the church of Oakley. A very timeless architecture that blends a look of very old industrial materials, but also a futuristic feel. It reminded me of the Sylvester Stallone movie “Demolition Man”.
I met with their Architectural Design team and went over the plans for the new Dallas Showroom at the Hickory Street Annex. It was a very productive meeting and I am glad we met. They have a very aggressive construction schedule for new Oakley Retail stores all over the world. The Dallas Showroom had been put on the back burner, but not anymore.
I can’t wait to see the new Dallas Showroom. It’s going to totally rock man.
