The picture below is of peanut butter and honey jaffle. They also have egg, cheese and Avocado. It’s two pieces of bread cooked in a waffle like machine. I had about 1000 jaffles.
This is a 3 story wooden horse being built for the cremation of a king from one of the villages. He died a month or so ago, and the ceremony is the beginning of November. I’m wondering what that body is looking like these days. Hopefully it’s in the freezer. At any rate hundreds of people volunteer for weeks to help build all of the pieces for the cremation. The body gets put inside the horse and then everything is burned. The town of Ubud will have no electricity while they carry (by hand) the horse threw the streets. All the electrical lines have to come down to make room for the horse. And a dinner that had a local performance. It was the dance of 100 chattering monkeys. You will have to see the video. Very cool.
These are all the men working in the back of the temple building the sets and decorations. They all work for free. Do you think you could fine a bunch of young carpenter and craftsmen in the US to do this for free?
