I have been remiss in writing my BLOG this trip. I spent 3 nights in Warsaw. No, the bowl of soup is not Polish soup, but Vietnamese Pho. I had one day of walk around Warsaw and then the next day it rained all day. I had a taxi take me to the Vietnamese restaurant. I stayed at the Marriott right across from the Central Train Station(see photo).
When I checked out of the hotel the concierge asked if I needed help with my luggage. Normally I would have said no, but not wanting to further hurt my back, I said sure. It was a wise decision. The Polish train system is not like the Swiss. The bellman carried my luggage across the stret and lead me to the train. He read the sign up top which indicated track #3. We went down the escalator and he read a second sign that indicated track #6, so I quickly followed him to that track. Then he said let’s go quick, because they just announced over the load speaker that my train was now arriving at track #4. He showed me how to read my Polish train ticket, got me to the right car, pointed in the window and said, “that’s going to be your seat”. He put my bags on the train and I gladly gave him a $35.00 tip.
I have my bad back to thank for forcing me to get help otherwise I would have missed my train. I am so thankful.
Ohhh, the random picture in the bar was at The Warsaw Tortilla Factory. I thought these booths with private beer taps were cool. There is an LCD display on the wall showing how much you have used. Too bad you could never have this in the states. If you got too drunk and had a car wreak you would have no one to blame but yourself. None of that, “Well it’s not my fault because the bartender gave me too much to drink shit”.
I love this place.
