In addition to playing volleyball and hiking, I have been doing a little office work and hanging out at the house. I have a great view of Mount Crested Butte and the surrounding countryside. The first few pictures are of two unusual houses built by former Apollo astronauts Allen Shepherd and Gus Grissom. The house in the foreground that looks like an Apollo space capsule is 5 stories tall and was built by Allen. The 2 story glass structure was Gus’s home. (he is the one who blew the door off the capsule in the ocean because he thought it was sinking. Then it almost did sink before they could lift him out of the water)

Monday I had planned to go camping with Adam. It ended up raining most of the day so we opted for a cookout here at the house. Had some great steaks that I bought at the Sunday farmers market from a local organic framer. This place is rainbow alley. Every afternoon if there is a little rain the is a huge rainbow in the exact same place at the same time. Stunning…..

I set-up a desk and actually got a lot of work done yesterday. I walked down to the ski base for lunch on the patio and ran into a friend Amy Williams (Leigh Ann’s sister). She was out for a bike ride. I swear I am the fattest person in this whole town. Everyone seems to be in great shape and very active. I like it here. The dogs love it. I better go get some excersize and get off the couch.
