In Hong Kong waiting six hours to catch a flight to LA. I had left the Sheraton Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh earlier that morning.

From the plane, I’m wearing a custom tailored shirt made in Hoi An. Cheers to you!

Enjoying a drink while hanging out in an epic private resting room at the Cathay Pacific first class lounge, overlooking the airplanes. In the next photo the largest passenger jet, the Airbus A-380, is just outside the window. Quite an amazing vantage point.

Speaking of hanging out, now back in Dallas, check out my new chair. In preparation for rehab after shoulder surgery I went off the deep end and bought the most ugly and exquisitely comfortable recliner. Many folks with shoulder surgery experience insisted that I MUST have a recliner since the doctors need you to sleep upright for a full two weeks after the procedure.

My friend Shannon recommended that I buy the recliner now and move it to the “Man Cave” later. My friend Chris wanted to send me his silver handbell to summon assistance but since it had suddenly gone missing off his nightstand during the last rehab, he suggested I get a handy sign made up that reads, “Do Not Disturb” on one side and “Service, Please” on the other. So… the new recliner will be delivered on Tuesday, the same day as the operation. Hopefully it will be waiting for me on my return from surgery.

My shoulder surgery (torn rotator cuff repair) is set for Tuesday, November 12. My sister Beth has offered to come to Dallas to help. She is nothing short of an angel. Many friends have offered their help, support, and such kind words. I appreciate and thank you all.

Best,

Gary
